Anti-wash regulation is prepared for the crypto industry in Paraguay

Según CoindeskLast week, the Secretariat for the Prevention of Money or Property Laundering (SEPRELAD) of Paraguay announced a survey on the cryptocurrency industry to be carried out nationwide.

Motivated by the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF), this survey will help the Paraguayan government understand its national cryptocurrency industry, SEPRELAD officials told CoinDesk, which will allow the way for the first specific regulations for services with Cryptocurrencies in the country, which are expected to be published in the first half of 2020.

The data obtained will be used to measure the degree of adoption, complexity and size of the virtual asset market in Paraguay, in order to develop regulations that adequately regulate them and mitigate the risk of misuse, said Minister Christian Villanueva.

Also, virtual asset service providers (VASP) in Paraguay had to open their books to the government for the first time.
