NBA's Sacramento Kings plan to pay their players in bitcoins

There is no doubt that the crypto space and its assets will increasingly gain more ground as the people directly involved in the administration of organizations and institutions begin to trust in the benefits of using cryptocurrencies as vehicles of value. Not long ago it was learned that in the US, with the help of Elon Musk, crypto will begin to be used beyond investments and trading.

Now, as reported Criptonoticias, the basketball team representing the city of Sacramento, the Kings, plans to offer to pay all or part of their salaries in BTC to all of their players, as well as the staff in general. The team leader was not explicit in mentioning how this would be facilitated, but a partnership with Bitpay, a company dedicated to payments of different magnitudes in Bitcoin, is speculated.

This would not be the Kings' first foray into crypto space, as the NBA team had already issued a token on the Ethereum network in 2019 that is intended to reward its fans. In conclusion, there is still a long way to go for institutions to place their trust in these digital assets, for which education regarding blockchain technology will be of vital importance.
