The Turkish football club Galatasaray Spor Kulübü plans to launch its own fan token, based on Ethereum, as announced today. This project will be in collaboration with the sports company Chiliz, which drives the platform partners.com.
In this way the Turkish club becomes one of the group of clubs that have already taken the initiative to undertake projects with cryptocurrencies or tokens. In this group are Paris Saint Germain, West Ham, AS Roma, Juventus and Atlético Madrid.
These tokens will allow fans to vote in polls prepared by the club, participating in the decision of topics of interest to the club that it will propose for fans to vote. For example, for official product designs, dates for sporting events, among others. It is even pointed out that they may decide on sponsorship agreements and collaborations with other clubs.
In the communication published on its official website, Galatasaray announced that the token will be available from the first quarter of the 2020 and will be distributed through a process called Fan Token Offering or FTO.
