Facebook sues two companies involved in data mining operations

According to TechCrunch, Facebook has filed a lawsuit in the United States against two companies involved in an international data mining. The extraction occurred through services belonging to Facebook, as well as through other websites and services. The companies that collected the data with the intention of using it for marketing intelligence would have done so in violation of Facebook's terms of service.

The companies named in the lawsuit are Israel's Brand Total Ltd. and Unimania Inc., the latter based in Delaware. According to the website of the former, this platform offers a real-time perspective of the competitive media intelligence, insights and analytics that the competition uses. While the other, offered apps that allow you to view Facebook through a web interface, as well as Instagram stories anonymously.
