The Colombian Ministry of Technology published the guidelines for the development of blockchains in public management

The adoption of disruptive technologies in public management is a phenomenon that is slowly reaching Latin America, mainly due to the political and economic uncertainty that some countries in the region are currently experiencing. However, Colombia is taking the lead in the matter with the publication of a blockchain guide. Thus, according to the official website of the MinistryThis document would have the purpose of providing clear guidelines for the development of these projects in the public administration.

In addition, this document aims to provide inputs and tools so that public entities understand what it is, what it is for and how blockchain can be implemented in the digital transformation of the State. The facilitating role of the blockchain for the audit to be carried out by the control bodies for the sake of transparency was also highlighted.

There is no doubt that it is very important for public entities that executive government instances promote adoption. However, this is only a first step for transformation, because, beyond development, there is still a lot of work to be done regarding the consideration of digital trust as a new value that must prevail in state activity.
