Through an announcement on its social networks, Burger King Brasil reported that it will accept dogecoin in exchange for its Dogpper, the bone-shaped dog biscuit that tastes like its classic Whopper hamburger.
The product was launched three years ago as part of a campaign that sought to attract dog-loving customers, with the proposal that both owners and pets can enjoy the star product of the food chain, the Whopper hamburger.
According to Criptonoticias, Brazilian customers will already be able to purchase the curious dog biscuits for only 3 DOGE, which is around 60 cents, and users only transfer the doge to Burger King Brasil's wallet to receive their order. Likewise, the company indicated that users should verify the availability of delivery in their region, as well as recommended the maximum purchase of five Dogppers per order due to the availability of the product.
However, it is not yet clear if the company's acceptance of dogecoin to buy Dogpper is the start to accept other cryptocurrencies in the future. At this point, it is important to emphasize that it is not the first time that the company ventures into the world of cryptocurrencies, in fact, in 2017, they announced the launch of a token at Burger King in Russia, based on the Waves platform. In the same year, a branch in Moscow began accepting bitcoins as a payment method to purchase its products, a situation that wanted to be replicated in other branches in Saint Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
